STATEMENT

To our wonderful and loyal audiences,

It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that we write this message.

As of today, we have made the decision to cancel our 2020 summer season due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

We have been monitoring the situation daily and do not feel it would be responsible of us to proceed as planned. We simply cannot justify asking you or our brilliant company members to put your health at risk, or for us to encourage mass gatherings during these uncertain times.

As a company whose existence relies solely on ticket sales, this puts us in a challenging situation as it follows the cancellation of our spring tour of Rapunzel which, having played less than half the dates, has had a significant financial impact on us.

This said, we have to prioritise what is truly important and everyone’s health and safety and wellbeing is absolutely at the top of the list.

We are passionately determined to find a way to recover from the devastating impact losing all our income for the year will have on us. We WILL be back and indeed, are delighted to confirm that we will be touring this year’s titles next year, meaning our summer 2021 season will consist of THE JUNGLE BOOK, ROMEO & JULIET, and THE THREE MUSKETEERS.

For those of you who have booked tickets, you will of course receive refunds. Please do not contact the venues or ticket providers during this incredibly hectic time, they will be in touch with you to organise this.

We hope you will all support us and understand why we have made this decision; As you’ll imagine, it was not one we made lightly. Furthermore, we very much hope you will support our 2021 season as it will be needed more than ever as we attempt to recover from the effects of this year. We can certainly promise you this, it’s going to be a huge celebration as we make it our biggest and most exciting year to date so we’ll very much look forward to seeing you then!

Thank you for all your support over the years, it really has meant the world to us and until we meet again, please be safe and look after each other x

Multi-award nominated Immersion Theatre proudly presents an unforgettable adaptation of William Shakespeare’s iconic, Romeo & Juliet.

Following last year’s hugely successful production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, this powerful story of forbidden love and bitter rivalry is brought to life in a visual spectacle infused with comedy, heart-break, and danger.

Moving, funny, and tragic in equal measure, this beautiful production will see Immersion continue to build on their reputation for producing Shakespeare for all, be it the seasoned theatre-goer or budding literary enthusiast. This is Shakespeare as it’s meant to be: interactive, fun, and highly accessible!

Bad Weather Policy

Our summer productions are Open–Air and are performed outside, uncovered. Venues and audience members therefore accept that weather, climate, temperature, light conditions, and various other elements which are out of our control, may impact on the performance.
While we make every effort to complete each show, we reserve the right to:
a. Stop and start the performance as necessary.
b. Commence the show up to one hour after the stated time.
Apart from extreme circumstances, we will not cancel a performance before the advertised start time. It can often rain all day, yet clear up just before the performance is due to commence.
We perform in all but the worst of weathers, rain included. However, where such weather is deemed to pose a health and safety risk to the performers or our audience i.e. torrential rain or thunder and lightning strike – we reserve the right to stop the performance. Should the performance be unable to continue, the decision to cancel will be made between Immersion Theatre Company and the venue manager.

Refunds and exchanges

Refunds are not given for the cancellation or abandonment of a show as a result of poor weather. Exchanges will only apply should a performance be cancelled as a result of the weather before the interval. Audience members will be entitled to exchange tickets with the nearest value to the original ticket at any other show during the show’s tour, subject to availability and agreement with the third-party venue.
