SUMMER 2022 UK TOUR

Immersion Theatre invite you to enjoy an afternoon of open-air decadence and hilarity as they proudly present Oscar Wilde’s wittiest comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest.

Join foppish bachelors Jack and Algernon on their latest Bunburying exploits replete with mistaken identities, icy women, trivial banter and of course, muffins!

Prepare your cucumber sandwiches and spend the afternoon in the glorious sunshine enjoying one of literature’s most trivial comedies for serious people…there’ll be handbags at dawn!

AUDIENCE FEEDBACK FROM 2018 PRODUCTION

BAD WEATHER POLICY

Our summer productions are Open–Air and performed outside, uncovered. Venues and audience members therefore accept that weather, climate, temperature, light conditions, and various other elements which are out of our control, may impact on the performance.
While we make every effort to complete each show, we reserve the right to:
a. Stop and start the performance as necessary.
b. Commence the show up to one hour after the stated time.
Apart from extreme circumstances, we will not cancel a performance before the advertised start time. It can often rain all day, yet clear up just before the performance is due to commence.
We perform in all but the worst of weathers, rain included. However, where such weather is deemed to pose a health and safety risk to the performers or audience i.e. torrential rain or thunder and lightning strike – we reserve the right to stop the performance. Should the performance be unable to continue, the decision to cancel will be made between ourselves and the venue manager.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

Refunds are not given for the cancellation or abandonment of a show as a result of poor weather. Exchanges will only apply should a performance be cancelled as a result of the weather before the interval. Audience members will be entitled to exchange tickets with the nearest value to the original ticket at any other show during the show’s tour, subject to availability and agreement with the third-party venue.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. All tickets are sold subject to these Terms & Conditions. These Terms & Conditions should be read carefully prior to purchase as purchase of tickets constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

  1. Only tickets purchased through Immersion or an agent authorised by Immersion are valid. Immersion Theatre will not be responsible for tickets purchased through other methods which have not been authorised by us.

  1. It is your responsibility to check your tickets for errors as mistakes may not be able to be rectified after purchase. Check your tickets on receipt and contact the ticket agent immediately if there is an error.

  1. Immersion will not be responsible for any ticket that is lost, stolen, or destroyed.

  1. Immersion Theatre and/or the Venue reserve the right to make alterations to the published event programme where reasonably necessary and without advance notice.

  1. Tickets are non-refundable. As per Immersion Theatre’s refund & exchange policy, a performance will only be cancelled in the event of extreme weather where continuation of the performance is deemed dangerous by Immersion Theatre and the venue. In the rare event of a cancellation due to this, audience members will be entitled to exchange tickets with the nearest value to the original ticket at any other show during the show’s tour, subject to availability and agreement with the third-party venue. This will only apply should a performance be cancelled as a result of the weather before the interval. It is your responsibility to ensure you are available for this rescheduled performance as refunds will not be issued should you be unable to attend.

7. It is your responsibility to make arrangements including travel, accommodation and/or hospitality for the performance. This is at your own risk and Immersion Theatre will not be liable for any costs incurred as a result of the cancellation or rescheduling of a performance.

  1. It is your responsibility to inform Immersion Theatre, the venue, and/or the ticket agent authorised by us of any change to your contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase.

  1. In the unlikely event of a performance cancellation, Immersion Theatre will work with the venue and/or ticket agency to inform you. It is your responsibility, however, to ascertain whether an event has been cancelled or rescheduled and the date and time of any rescheduled event as we do not guarantee you will be informed of such a cancellation before arrival to the venue. Immersion Theatre is not liable for any costs incurred by you as a result of this cancellation/reschedule.

  1. By purchasing a ticket to attend an Immersion Theatre performance, you give your consent to being filmed as a member of the audience. This includes sound recordings. Immersion Theatre and/or the venue may use such films and recordings (including any copies) without payment.

  1. Immersion Theatre will not be liable to you for failure to perform any obligation under these Terms & Conditions to the extent that the failure is caused by Force Majeure.

  1. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, “Force Majeure” means a supervening event, which is beyond the reasonable control of Immersion Theatre which shall render the event incapable of being performed. Immersion Theatre and/or the venue will not be liable to you for failure to perform any obligation under these Terms and Conditions caused by or due to Force Majeure.

  1. It is your responsibility to read these terms and conditions carefully before purchasing tickets. By purchasing tickets, you are agreeing to all terms and conditions, none of which can be removed or amended in any respect unless both you and Immersion Theatre agree in writing.
